Half of my clients open up the SEO conversation asking about freaking backlinks. "A few months ago I paid a guy 2,000 to place some backlinks, the DR is higher now, but not the traffic." "I paid 10K to these backlink builders but nothing happened" Of course you didn't get more traffic. You want to know why? Because most backlinks sellers are arbitraging on your need to rank, and 99% of them know NOTHING about SEO. I call them a SCAM, because when they are done by these ignorants they can REVERT your chances to rank. Snake Oil. This is what happens in simple terms: they take your money while banging out some emails. The long version: They give a small % of what you pay to the owners of these websites where they publish you. They do it to you and any other poor soul looking to rank higher. Then yours and other 99 backlinks get labeled as toxic, and your rankings start to tank. Pray to not get penalized. The biggest issue besides mass buying and selling backlinks is that they place your backlinks randomly: they slap your keyword/backlink on some related post in an unrelated page with bad formatting, with no bold, bullet points, related post, links, or images. All your content work down the drain. Is like dressing up to end up in an city slum drinking dirt water by a garbage dump. No need to stress—I can think of way smarter ways for you to spend that cash. A) Donate it to me. Of course I'm kidding but this way at least you won't regress in your SEO journey. Now, more productive ideas: B) Publish content that attracts backlinks C) For the price of one of these backlink scams, you can get a unexpensive VA to help you email other publishers for 3 months D) Go into platforms where you can directly research websites and get in direct touch with website owners and see what makes sense E) Get into PR Link Building with a company like "Search Intelligence" (Use "Flavio1000" to get a 1K Discount) For A and B I can help you directly. For the other ones, be my guest. PS. I have two slots open in my SWAT SEO Agency for November Our foundational package, the SEO PUSH, is expensive, it costs $10,000. SEO is overwhelming. There are too many options: Keyword research Tech stack Technical setup Copywriting, etc. Simplify things. Use the Epicenter as your guide. The Epicenter is your product or service. Imagine you own a pizza joint. You have a line of customers—are you sending them to your "pizza cooking classes"? No, you won't. You're selling pizza. Margarita or Pepperoni—take it or leave it. This is where you start, not on classes about healthy ingredients for pizza. The digital world is...
As many of you know, I'm aiming to get 120MM clicks for my clients, or 100% YoY growth this year. So I've been looking at ways to fix all the Organic Search attribution drama. And what I found is simple for most SaaS: if a startup is not paying close attention, the attribution will made to the payment gateway (stripe or paypal), so you need to configure it properly. If you already did the setup, you should be able to track the conversions. These are the screens I check the most in GA4....
The Rank Enhancement is a simple process to help you rank higher for content published in the past. The whole idea is to do a minimum effort to squeeze the most out of your SEO lemons. It's the best ROI I get for my clients. I explain a little bit what we've done for these clients in the following video: This is not impossible to streamline, but it's best done on a case by case basis. It uses different data points from Google Search Console, Analytics of any kind, rankings, and other...
